I found Tablefy via Lifehacker last night, which is an application that is very much like one of the ideas I wrote about almost 2 years ago. It’s still rough around the edges (the petfinder captcha is a first for me and is pretty cool, although klunky), but I’m looking forward to using it and seeing what kind of usage can come out of it.

This looks interesting. I have saved the post to play around this new app later. But isint that what we also do in excel?
Cheers! Jay

Yeah, you can also do this in excel, but the same can be said about a wiki vs word. There a lot of advantages to simplifying functionality to some basic primitive actions, and you can start to see that with Tablefy’s ability to embed and mashup data sets.
Also, you have to know lots of macros to accomplish what tablefy has done on the backend, (video embedding, automatic coloring, etc)
also, the comparison basket feature is freakin cool!
